There are moments in life where we really need someone to listen. We don’t want someone to merely acknowledge the words that come out of our mouths, but rather that they heard us and made a heartfelt connection in hopes to better understand us. We want to be in a safe place without judgement, where we are accepted even in our brokenness. I understand this because I too needed this from someone while in MY brokenness.
Oftentimes, it is difficult to express our thoughts and emotions because it requires us to be vulnerable and transparent. We ask questions such as:
- What if I tell someone and they don’t understand?
- What if they laugh or think I’m silly?
- What if they don’t care?
- Can I trust them?
- Should I trust them?
Learning to be transparent and vulnerable is difficult but not impossible. These skills take time and are based on trust. As a therapist I would love to be a person who you can trust because I DO care. I want to understand you better and work alongside of you to help you become the best possible version of yourself.
I believe that we can use the things that cause us anxiety or stress to fuel a passion in us that will lead us to our own greatness. God has given me a passion to help others walk through the emotions that may have once crippled them and instead I can lead them to the other side – the side of new life, hope and peace.
This journey isn’t easy and requires work but it is very rewarding in the end. Like a harvest we must put in effort and hard work in order to enjoy the fruitfulness of our labor. I not only want to work hard for you, I want to work hard with you. I have patience and understanding in many areas such as stress and anxiety, life transitions, self esteem, self-worth, body image, co-parenting and adolescent counseling.
