Meet Susan Griffin

LMFT

Hi, I’m Susan

My name is Susan Griffin and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been counseling couples and individuals for over 10 years.  I also supervise Marriage and Family associates gaining their hours for licensure. I am passionate about helping my clients feel connected, seen, and heard.

My approach to therapy is from the Emotionally Focused Therapy perspective. EFT uses attachment theory to explore how we learned to connect and bond with those we love. Also, the ways we learned to deal with emotions, conflict and how to re engage after a conflict. I help my individuals and couples learn what triggers them, the messages they tell themselves and the behaviors they display to either push friends or significant others away or to try to draw them closer. We work on understanding how those patterns were developed and how to change them to be able to connect and find comfort in their relationships.

Deciding to come to therapy takes courage. It’s not easy asking for help. I too struggle with asking for help myself. Yet, we were not created to walk this journey of life alone. Let me come along beside you as we work on your challenges and difficulties you are facing. I work from grace not judgement.  I will be honored to go on this life journey with you.

I specialize in couples, men with anger, women phase of life challenges, and postpartum. I have a master’s in clinical psychology and a license in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have extended training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Postpartum.

*Currently accepting new patients.
